Corals and Peaches

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

Coral is everywhere! From cosmetics, to clothes, accessories and even shoes, this umbrella hue indeed provides a refreshing look this season! For people who have warmer tones, hues like this, including peaches and oranges (see previous entry on colors) would be your best friends this Spring-Summer 2012.
So how do you use these colors for lips?

If you have lighter skin, Peach provides a soft and natural look for the face. See previous entry on how to apply these kinds of lippies, but make sure you soften your lips by applying foundation/concealer on it, lighten also your brows, put minimal eyeshadow and bronzer. If you have brown hair, it would even look good!
You can also try corals with pink sub-tones if you have fairer skin.

Lips: Revlon Matte lipstick in Smoked Peach
Eyebrow: MAC Show-Off
Eye Shadow: Maybelline Lumineyes
Bronzer: Palladio
Coral in more hot orange sub-tone looks good on darker skin! I used L'Oreal Paris Color Riche in Magnetic Coral, and Catwalk Cosmetics Runway Palette for eyes in Salmon, for the pictures below.
Orange! There are lots of oranges and corals with orange sub-tone lippies in the Metro. But i decided to use a good yellow-orange color of eye shadow I saw from the Catwalk Cosmetics Runway Palette to complement my existing peach/coral color. You can do this if really want orange, and if you're on budget. ;) How to do it?

Apply the eyeshadow by patting on top of any light coral or peach or mauve lipstick. Then use the lipstick again for the next layer to have a creamy look and to avoid the "cheese" effect.
