NIVEA Sun Protect & Refresh Invisible Cooling MistWednesday, May 02, 2012
Everyone's so excited about the first aerosol sunblock (+ cooling) spray so let me review it for those who are tired of smelly and sticky sun products.
NIVEA Sun Protect & Refresh Invisible Cooling Mist SPF 50
SRP: PHP 445
Availability: Watsons & Leading Department Stores & Supermarkets
(+) I really like that there's this type of sunblock now because it can save the parts that are hard to reach: back, buttocks, feet (and it's fingers) etc.
(+) The packaging looks really nice, I love the metallic blue finish. So nice to collect and would indeed remind me always of the beach
(+) The cap releases a good amount of the sunblock and the opening doesn't spread too much. This is good because since it's aerosol, the distance and amount of sunblock is needed to really protect the skin. But this is one is just right. NOTE: You have to spray 2X at a certain area to really protect the skin.
(+) SPF 50 is a good level for this product. SPF 30 might work for sprays (like the NIVEA Invisible Spray in SPF 30) that are not aerosol because it's a bit concentrated and would still need hands to spread the product. But SPF 50 is right for this type of format. NOTE: SPF 50 is already a decent protection level for the skin. read more about SPF here.
(+) It's really cooling, like ICE which is good for those who will stay under the sun for such a long time.
(+) The scent too is not too strong (and doesn't really smell like sunblock) and there's a little floral scent which is lovely.
(+) In terms of consistency, this is what it looks like after initial spray - liquidy, like water, not the lotion type. the application is quite close (that's why there's excess) in this example only to show closely the product.
(+) No need for hands, it dries and protects just easily!
(+) Protection noticed! I didn't experience sunburn or redness after our event which I blogged here:
(-) Crucial to cover all parts of the body. Tip: make sure you apply generously (around 2x at a certain area). Avoid spraying in the eyes
(-) You might just mistake it for a deodorant because of the packaging so just be careful ;)
Overall, I would recommend and repurchase this because there's just a great fit - I don't like thick greasy, smelly and hard to apply sunblocks which is currently sold in the market. This is just revolutionary (with the cooling effect), thanks to NIVEA's technologies!
Before I went to the launch of this product, I already got one so I will give away a set and mist fan I got from the event for you to try it and experience for yourself. And so you can be ready for summer too, like moi! Good luck!
