Laura Mercier Creme Liner

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Finally, Laura Mercier has a Crème Eye Liner! And this will be my first post for the eyeliner "week" which will be basically for a day. haha Anyway, this ultra-smooth, water-proof creamy eye liner that applies with the ease and smooth silky finish of a gel and the precision of a liquid liner will be my first post. And it deserves the first bang.

Laura Mercier Creme Liner (permanent)
SRP: PHP 995
Availability: Rustan's Department Stores

(+) 6 unique colors (Noir, Espresso, Violet, Canard, Indigo, Cobalt) - and oh, color is not just for summer!
(+) As you can see below after some nail test, it has a smudge, transfer, crease-proof formula that even when it is still wet, it has very minimal effect on the swatch.
Swatch of Laura Mercier Creme Liner in Indigo (left; dry) and Noir (right; slightly wet) - with flash
(+) Water-proof formula for extended longwear (8 hours) - it's one of the eyeliners that can only be removed through a makeup remover. If only using water, expect it to last for 2 days which I've observed
Swatch of Laura Mercier Creme Liner in Noir after letting it dry - with flash
(+) Ultra-smooth creamy formula provides precision of a liquid liner, with a silkier, softer finish. I use brush for this and because the product is too soft, the brush strokes can be seen below.
(+) Which makes it glide on smoothly and evenly; does not drag on skin
(+) Creates a fine, precise line and provides definition in one stroke
(+) Provides a beautiful semi-matte, non-oily finish with full coverage colour
Swatch of Laura Mercier Creme Liner in Indigo - dry, 2 coats, with flash
(+) Product has ample playtime, staying workable to allow for the perfect application before it dries. Below is a photo from my latest LOTD showing the black lining which is still not perfect (still showing white line)
Swatch of Laura Mercier Creme Liner in Indigo and Noir - semi-dry; 2 coats, with flash
Below see how perfect the lining is with the texture and coverage!!

(+) Delivers immediate colour impact and intensity. It has Micronized Pigments and Mica: provide vibrant colour intensity and immediate colour impact
(+) Non-greasy; non-drying formula is comfortable to wear
Swatch of Laura Mercier Creme Liner in Indigo- dry; 2 coats, with flash
(+) Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive; suitable for contact lens wearers
(+) Ophthalmologist and dermatologically tested
(+) Allergy tested to minimize the risk of allergy and irritation

(-) Laura said it's easy to use and allows for mistake-proof application but this type of packaging is of course hard in the sense that it's not handy - brush and make up removers needed especially because the formulation is really pigmented
(-) While packaging is actually very good in a sense that it doesn't allow air in, I just don't like jars in general because when left open, it really dries the product.

Laura’s Technique: Apply along upper lash line using Angled Eye Liner Brush in an easy dip and stroke action. Laura created a synthetic brush specifically for Crème Eye Liner. The unique design has an angled ferrule to allow you to reach up over the lashes to easily apply along the lash line. Plus, the shorter handle is easy to hold and allows you get even closer to your mirror for a more precise application. (Brush sold separately, P895)

Overall, I'm really impressed with everything that the product has and is and would recommend and repurchase again because except for the ease of use given the jar packaging, everything is just Flawless, just like how Laura Mercier wanted it ;)

Along with the creme liners are Caviar sticks which I'll review soon. So stay tuned!
