Laura Mercier Folklore Illuminating

You know how detergent brands advertise anti-chalk components? The same thing is true about makeup. Not everyone knows and can notice that albeit an eyeshadow is technically a powder, it shouldn't be as powdery because you wouldn't want the pigments to be underestimated. Color payoff is one quality of a quality makeup and I think that Laura Mercier has that with its new line.

Laura Mercier Folklore Illuminating Eye Colour (limited)
SRP: PHP 995
Availability: Rustan's Department Stores

(+) 3 great earth shades: Earth Glow is a deep brown - which looks elegant for me, Fire Glow is copper-ish, while Sun Glow is light yellow nude hue. I have Earth Glow which i used it in my latest LOTD partnered with a copper tone so I guess all these colors can be used together.
(+) In contact with skin, it just sticks perfectly without feeling so thick, chalk-y, whitish or powdery. It has very good pigmentation and coverage even at first swipe.
Swatch of Laura Mercier Folklore Illuminating Eye Colourin Earth Glow - without flash
(+) The most excellent part I think is the texture. it's so soft and smooth (actually like satin!!) and despite the high pigments present, it glides so easily and can be blended with perfection
Swatch of Laura Mercier Folklore Illuminating Eye Colourin Earth Glow - 1 coat, without flash
(+) Designed to apply with an even colour release to blend without being powdery or dusty.
(+) Provides a multi-dimensional, luminous pearl finish and incredible metallic effect. It becomes a bit darker and less brown with multiple coats though
Swatch of Laura Mercier Folklore Illuminating Eye Colourin Earth Glow - 2 coats, with flash
(+) Soft, bouncy texture (as you can see on the crease where there's no thick buildup) provides excellent colour pay-off  that makes you see through the skin despite a high coverage
Swatch of Laura Mercier Folklore Illuminating Eye Colourin Earth Glow - 2 coats, with flash
(+) Provides perfect adherence to the eyelid without dragging, skipping or pulling skin.
(+) Stays colour-true and does not fade throughout the day as you can see below. Long wearing formula wears all day (8 hours) and is also crease-resistant and transfer-resistant.
Swatch of Laura Mercier Folklore Illuminating Eye Colourin Earth Glow - smudged, with flash
(+) Non-drying and comfortable formula.
(+) Dermatologically and allergy tested to minimize the risk of allergy and irritation.; Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive; Ophthalmologist tested.

(-) The illuminating effect cannot be seen in this shade alone because it's quite dark but the finish makes the eyes really pop out.

Overall, this is one of the best eyeshadow formulas I've tested with pure pigments that are combined with the perfect ingredients for the truest colour imaginable and a highly polished finish. It's non-chalky and its talc-free base is extremely transparent allowing for extraordinary pure colour and luminosity that all of us look for. I will definitely recommend and repurchase this especially to working and stylish ones who want comfort but still have a great sense of quality.
