Laura Mercier Faux Lash

As a renowned makeup artist, Laura Mercier really knows the dramatic impact of false lashes.  With that in mind, she created her latest mascara to give real lashes extreme volume and length for intense exaggeration and drama. Let's review!

Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara
(+) The one I got is from the Holiday collection of Laura Mercier which is colored brown. First thing to notice is the oversized brush that can build thick, beautiful lashes. The dual sided brush head has short bristles on one side that provide maximum color deposit and long bristles on the other to allow for maximum buildability which you'll see later.

(+) I love that there's a blend of waxes (Wax blend of Carnauba, Beeswax and Jojoba deliver extraordinary volume and glossy conditioning; Acacia imparts extreme volume and creamy texture to the formula) delivering extraordinary glossy volume; basically thickens and lengthens smoothly. I think this is what makes this a luxurious one unlike others that are hard ad sticky.
(+) It provides a “false lashes” effect but not the kind that I'm yet looking for but definitely thickened and lengthened mine.
(+) Provides buildable volume for a day to night look without clumping. This is one mascara that is really true to that.

(+) Absolutely no fibers
(+) Water-resistant, longwearing (8-10 hours) formula wears allday
(+) Comfortable to wear; non-drying, non-irritating

(+) Provides intense colour payoff even with the brown color. So excited to see that the more with black!
(+) Flake-free; does not flake throughout the day
(+/-) It's not at all transfer-free, but once it dries (because it's too creamy) it becomes smudge-free
(+) Ophthalmologist tested; suitable for contact lens wearers; Fragrance-free

To get a false lash effect, Laura applies the mascara from root to tip, wiggling the brush up through the lashes. Use the short bristles to initially apply the mascara close to the base of the lashes, then use the long bristles to brush the mascara through the lashes to build volume. Repeat for added drama. And use one of the best curling tool I discovered which doesn't bend the lashes too much.

Overall, despite the price, it is the formula that's is I'm looking at because while the effect can be achieve by other mascaras, this is one is good with all its ingredients. It is extra-smooth, glossy and good-for-lashes, created with a blend of waxes and absolutely no fibers. It builds rich, exaggerated lashes that are extraordinarily thick, super-shiny and conditioned. Definitely recommend and use everyday when you have the budget.
