Stila Sweet Treat Bronzing Palette

This platte was released last February (also called a Valentine's Bronzing Palette) by Rustan's The Beauty Source and it's a complicated product. So let me do the math for you. But once you've mastered it, I'm sure you can perfectly contour/highlight/bronze your cheeks ;)

Stila Sweet Treat Bronzing Palette
SRP: PHP 695
Availability: Rustan's Department Stores

(+) The packaging is cute. Looks like a a real sweet treat, with pigments shaped like chocolates
(+) At first sight, it may seem like an eyeshadow, because the colors are different but upon closer look you can see various textures, colors and intensities which can allow you to do contouring customized to your needs.

(+) The swatches below show the different colors. On intensity, you can choose whether darker or lighter. On undertone, you can select a warmer color like the peach and chocolate brown. Considering textures, you have shimmer and matte to play with depending on how you want the illusion to appear. (+) Color pay-off is good, while consistency is average (without foundation under), with good level of coverage.

(+) Best used with a contour brush, the palette has repeating "cells" which allow for customization. (-) (-) Other brands has that artistic positioning of their pigments in the product which allow perfect blending of different colors and effects, and this one might be harder so make sure to blend well, tap off excess and get the pigments evenly.

(+) Nonetheless, with enough knowledge on the elements of this palette, you can do a lot with it.

A. Intense contouring or bronzing
B. Well highlighted and contoured effect
C. Warmer (more orangey and peachy) contour/bronze
When combined (All), the effect is a medium contour/bronze with a warmer color.

(+) Of course, you can treat in a mono way. Like for example, you can just use the peach color for blush, or the dark contour if you like.

(+) Again, combining colors and blending them well, it gives a good bronze/contour to warm skin tones like mine and my sister's.

(-) Intensity might be a little less controlled so make sure you blend well and use the shimmer's or peach colors to give a diffused effect (unless you want a really contoured one, but you know, you wouldn't want to look like joining a pageant)

Here's the final effect on my sister after I did her makeup for an event.

Overall, it may take a while to master this palette but with its affordable price and nice quality, it can be that perfect contouring product for the pro's and experimental girls.
