Laura Mercier Dark Spell

Laura Mercier launched and relaunched a lot of interesting and bold items for the Holiday, including one interesting collection called the Dark Spell which I'll be focusing on. You can see below a captivating set of products to achieve a smoldering look.

Nail color is a different great story, but will focusing on the eyes for this review. Below is the complete how-to from Laura Mercier.

Let's start reviewing some of the limited edition items first, starting with the Long Wear Creme Eye Pencils which has new limited edition colors. Same quality as its permanent counterparts, only that the Brown and Sage colors are more exquisite. Full reviews coming up soon but if you have been looking at products I'm using for my waterline my my different LOTD's, you can notice the dark puple liner is from this family.

The Limited edition Creme Smooth lipsticks are OK in terms of new colors but I like that these are bolder and edgier.

Just wanted to share that the Laure Eye products are quite fantastic and innovative - the plucking tool, eyelash curler and the tighlining products which I'll explain based on Laura's special technique. Global Makeup artist Jeffrey Tasker also demonstrated this and will share soon.

Laura Mercier Tightligning tools

Below is a diagram on how you can achieve clean open defined eyes with Laura Mercier. Starting with the plucking tool which I've been using since high school, this one cleans and precisely gets each and every hair even stubborn ones. Then the eyebrow color, the eyebrow curler which doesn't bend the lashes too much (making it sexy and perfectly curved), the Faux Lash mascara which now has a black color, and the last photo shows the natural lining effect from the tightlining technique.

Now tightlining technique works like connecting the dots. Instead of drawing a line which of course says that you're wearing an eyeliner, this one wouldn't tell.

But partnered with the Caviar Stick eye Colour and a smoother yet fuller and more spreadable Kohl one (limited edition) which is perfect for the waterline, you can achieve fuller more open eyes.

Below is an illustration of how you can level up the tight line to a full eye lining technique.

Now my favorite part is highlighting with the Spell Bound Highlighter which gives a warm tone highlight perfect for this kind of skin tone, and adjustable intensity when it use it as either wet or dry.

This product is my favorite from this collection and it can be applied on eyes and cheeks or wherever you want to highlight with coverage that's just so superior!

Now the eyeshadows are worth it as well. These limited Satin matte eye shadows have good consistency, coverage and texture that allows you to create your shades of darkness working like a baked eyeshadow.

Below demonstrates how we achieved an intense smokey using these products.

I loved this. The over all finish is not so metallic and shimmery; just right similar to a satin with a soft texture and not so thick coverage.
